Our History

Farming has experienced significant change in recent decades, and GreenPoint AG is a reflection of that change. In 2020, we were formed when the agronomy operations of Agri-AFC, GreenPoint AG and Tennessee Farmers Cooperative’s wholesale agronomy business were combined.

While we are a new company, our roots are deep and date to the 1930s. Over those years we’ve gone through acquisitions and name changes, as we’ve done what’s necessary to best serve our members and customers.

While our company is new, our business and our members are not. We are owned by three cooperatives, Alabama Farmers Cooperative, Tennessee Farmers Cooperative and Winfield United, all of which have a rich legacy of serving farmers and rural communities.

Through all the changes, our business strength has consistently been our people and the relationships we have with our customers. Our rich history and the pride of ownership that exists amongst our member-owners drives us to remain competitive and provide exceptional service to our ultimate customer, the American Farmer.

Today, we benefit from the decisions we’ve made over the years.

We’ve developed resiliency and an understanding of the need to change. This gives us an open mind on “what can be” rather than insisting “this is how it’s always been done.”
We’ve pushed forward with our digital offerings, and we’re proud of the productivity and profitability gains we’ve delivered for customers because of our ag technology tools.
We’re transparent and honest, and we are concerned first and foremost about the health and fiscal welfare of our grower customers and facilities.
We’re more prepared to face the future than other ag retailers no matter what changes may occur in decades to come.
